CLIENT PROFILE
Dr. Samantha Stevens is an established author, speaker and teacher of Art History. All aspects of the Art Nouveau Movement are her area of focus. Her father, a real estate mogul in the Spokane/Seattle, Washington area, amassed an extensive monitory fortune as well as a museum quality collection of Art Nouveau furniture, art and objects de art.
DESIGN CONCEPT
the architectural design will prioritize maintaining the integrity of farmhouse architecture while providing a harmonious backdrop for the placement of Samantha’s Art Nouveau treasures. The use of complementary materials such as wood, brass, cast iron, and glass will serve as the foundation, ensuring consistency and continuity between the two design styles.A key aspect of this design concept is the juxtaposition of rectilinear farmhouse elements with the flowing, avant-garde lines characteristic of Art Nouveau.

DINING ROOM - Integrated elements inspired by both Art Nouveau and Farmhouse styles, the wall cover pattern blends Art Nouveau’s sharp, sinuous lines with the quaint charm of farmhouse florals. The teal hue evokes depth and versatility within the color palette, serving as the focal point of the space.

LIVING ROOM - Given the boldness of the wallcovering’s intricate pattern, it was crucial to opt for neutral furniture selections to maintain a sense of balance in the space. Additionally, incorporating soft tones in the furniture was imperative to harmonize with the varied hues and saturation levels present in the wall coverings.

PRIMARY SUITE - Synchronizing with the central theme of Art Nouveau, the decision to maintain the continuity of the full-pattern wall covering was pivotal for spatial harmony and design cohesion. To counterbalance the furniture’s dark tones and evoke contrast, a soft blue hue was meticulously chosen, strategically accentuating the blues inherent in the wallcovering.
